Momentum Memoriam (The Memory of the Moment)

A humble monument. An odd little door on one side, made from a road sign.

On lifting the door, a gothic scene comprised of secreted detritus.

And the setting sun shining through a carved-out cross on the memorial's far side.

Tattoo Tim and 'Pick This'

Until about 900AD northern Scotland was inhabited by the Picts, a term possibly derived from a Roman nickname meaning 'the painted ones'.

So, "Pick This" seemed fitting for Wim Delvoye's Tim during a recent visit to the Museum of Old and New Art (http://mona.net.au)...

Acknowledge This Too

My son's girlfriend found a very tiny metal key lying on the ground. She chose an Acknowledge This stickie to 'tag' it as it sat on her hand.

[I'd also just like to acknowledge that the hands in the background belong to my son.]

Acknowledge This #1

Acknowledge This #1
I would like to acknowledge the efforts of this mouse, without whose contribution to the world my interest in wabi sabi may never have been ignited and my growing awareness that art can be anything by anyone or anything never fuelled.

Photo : Artwork by AnonyMOUSE, 2004.
This bottle was discovered in the dark recesses of an old shed by my friend John, a retired shepherd who lives in the Highlands of Scotland.  Seemingly the mouse had been putting away layers of food (and rat poison!) for winter.

On the Move?

I think it would be less unkind (for owners of broken down cars and cars with flat tyres) if the Australian state of Victoria were to change its slogan... But then it wouldn't give some of us a smile at the end of a long day and the chance to place a 'Go' yellow stickie of course... :-)
